Interior Design Philosophy
Marti's projects range from corporate headquarters in Silicon Valley to cozy cabins on small lakes. The size and scope of the projects are always different but her commitment is anchored in the philosophy that beauty is more than skin deep. Good design is created by understanding the heartfelt wishes of the client and the bones of the structure. Her mission is to create beautiful homes and workspace for all lifestyles. This may include the developer, architect, client, and the interior designer.

Marti's design method is to serve the client in such a way that a clear vision of their objective can be organized into a plan that is intrinsically sound enough to serve them in the present, but can evolve beautifully as does the family, which love and live in the space. This involves not only skill but also insight - a rapore with the client that provides a deeper understanding of the client's character and nature. A person's home is a very personal and unique expression of how they relate and create in their lives. It should not only be a safe and satisfying space but one that allows them to move into their creative intentions. The design and layout are essential elements in achieving this environment.

A Better Approach
Toward this end, Marti offers a unique design service called "House to Home Evaluation," which can be implemented before or during construction. This involves review of the architectural plans with the owner, architect, contractor, and/or developer to ensure that the structure can transition to a happy home. When requested by the builder, this process is rather quick and generic. When the service is requested by the client, it can be quite detailed. In either case, this avoids the expense of changes needed at a later time to accommodate the client's personal tastes.

Over the last 27 years, Marti's projects have included single homes, luxury homes, vacation homes, town houses, apartments, condominiums, and manufactured homes for residential. Commercial projects include hospitals, retail business, hospitality, ski resorts, corporate headquarters, banks, restaurants, all fields of design. Her commisions have been through private clients as well as contractors, developers, architects, and Realtors. Aside from typical interior design services, Marti takes end result considerations a step further. She will review electrical, heating, and other infrastructure to interface with the desired effect, reviewing sub floor to ceiling to coordinate with finished products and avoid problems through careful planning. These are just a few of the "extra mile" creative efforts that have added style, safety, and functionality in Marti's designs.
